The Canadian state partakes in global contemporary imperialism both independently and in conjunction with international imperialist organizations. I apply the theories of Leonard Woolf, Joseph Schumpeter, Vladimir Lenin, and Michael Ignatieff in an analysis of the involvement of the Canadian state in Afghanistan, Haiti, and Colombia. I conclude that the Canadian state promotes economic conquest under the illusion of humanitarian necessity
