TaS3 is a quasi-one-dimensional crystal that forms one or two charge density wave (CDW) states depending on the particular crystallographic structure of the material. Single crystals were grown using vapour transport, and their electrical resistivities as a function of temperature were measured. The crystals then underwent electron beam induced current (EBIC) imaging using a scanning electron microscope (SEM) in order to observe the spatial distribution of CDW regions with varying chemical potentials, which appeared as regions with varying contrast in an EBIC image. The results suggest that imaging CDW distributions in this way is possible and further studies are recommended in order replicate the results.
