"From Blood and Iron" is a novella about family and the ever-changing bonds that hold it together. Mia Blackburn is a young woman who is attempting to deal with the anger, distrust and sadness caused by her father’s infidelity. When she embarks on a crosscountry journey with her father she must deal with the complex interaction of pain and love as father and daughter re-forge their relationship. In Nova Scotia, Mia meets her grandmother for the first time, introducing a new element into the family dynamic. “From Blood and Iron†is a story of pain, loss, anger, and above all the love, which like iron, both runs in our blood and holds us together.
