In this thesis, possible relationships between various graph polynomials are explored. Following pertinent denitions and results in algebra and graph theory, the polyno- mials are introduced. The denitions and computation of the chromatic polynomial, the matchings polynomial, the characteristic polynomial and the interlace polynomial are given. Some properties of the graph polynomials are explored based on patterns found by generating the polynomials for dierent families of graphs. Finally, the graph polynomials are related by nding the greatest common divisor of pairs of polynomials.
