A section of the Wentworth Formation, which was drilled by the Fundy Gypsum Comp a ny in the Wentworth Quarry, near Windsor, Nova Scotia, is designated as the type section for this Formation . The carbonate , silt and evaporite members are described megascopically and microscopically . Sections from a number of localities are discussed in relation to lithology and paleontology and the lateral variations of the carbonate members of the Formation are outlined. A study of the fauna is also presented as well as an interpretation of the paleoecology . Some consideration is also given to alteration of the carbonates, the nature and environments of sedimentation and the stratigraphic relations of the Formation.
