This project has attempted to provide a tool for Christians to use with their Biblical and theological data on chastity by describing past Christian thinkers‘ thoughts on the topic of sex in general. It has shown that the Christian church‘s heritage from the second century to the present with respect to sexual intercourse has been monogamous marital sex between a husband and a wife to the exclusion of all others. It has sought to encourage Christians who struggle with chastity by illustrating that they are not alone, that their struggles are similar to those of the past, and that past Christian wisdom can help them and guide them on their journey to proper sexual conduct whether they are married or not.
