This creative thesis, Frostdale Farm, is a collection of thirty-two poems arranged into four groups as an echo of the way the Prairie was divided into quarter sections (equivalent to one quarter of a square mile) during the formation of homesteads in Saskatchewan in 1902. The four sections, Past, Crops, Cows, and Family are written in an assortment of poetic forms, blending free verse and prose poems with traditional forms such as sonnets, sestinas, blank verse and villanelles. These poems with accompanying photographs express the life of a prairie girl, and the long-standing traditions that are part of a family farm.
