The main objective of this project is to create a practical, accessible program which performs the efficient creation and maintenance of web sprites. Sub-objectives include completing this task with the highest possible efficiency, building an intuitive and usable interface for the program, and guiding users through the sprite generation process. Our goal is to provide a better option for the way sprites are built and maintained, so that it is easier to use them than to not. The implementation uses C# and the Microsoft .NET 4.0 Framework to build an image-handling core and applications by which to access it. These include a command line program, a desktop interface and, eventually, a web portal. These programs will allow users to access our sprite generation core with whichever method they prefer, and will give them the flexibility required to build and automate program executions without hassle. We conclude with a successful, working program which accomplishes many of the objectives we began with. This program uses many different algorithms and several advanced tools to complete this job, and remains as flexible and efficient as was outlined in the project specification.
